A little preventative measure has never hurt nobody, so even if you aren’t seeing those wrinkles yet, let’s help you put it off just a little while longer!
1. Use a product formulated for the eye area
As obvious as this sounds to some people, others go as far as using their regular facial moisturiser (many which contain known irritants) around their eyes. You may get up from your chair now…
Creams or serums formulated for the eye area, are not only more gentle but targeted to address the concern at hand whether it be puffiness, dark circles, dehydration, fine lines, deep lines or drooping eyelids. Believe it or not, your regular moisturiser may actually be causing some of your eye are concerns!
2. Be Gentle
Think of your eye area as a cotton ball that you can only delicately touch otherwise it might be flat in the blink of an eye.
The area is not only extra-sensitive but also needs to be handled with care. Apply eye creams with your ring finger as you will tend to pull the skin less while in some cases even patting is recommended rather than rubbing. One should never rub!!!
3. Make-Up Removal
There should be no tugging at your eye area when removing your makeup and if this is the case, you either need a new method or a more effective product.
We suggest you hold a round cotton pad soaked with water and your make-up remover over your closed eye for approximately 30 seconds, then gently drag the pad in the direction of your lashes, no tugging, pressure or excessive wiping. If this doesn’t do the trick, your make-up is too stubborn for your eye make-up remover and you need to change the product.
4. Pack your bags & go
Eye products that are kept in the fridge can give you that amazing ah-moment on the skin (especially after those late nights) but also helps with de-puffing the area.
