How Are Supplements Absorbed Into The Body?

Written by The Tonik on November 19th, 2019.      0 comments

The question of how supplements are absorbed into the body is something that is asked quite frequently. For very good reason, many people think that supplements don’t actually benefit the human body, because they are generally taken in capsule form.

This couldn’t be any further from the truth! Here’s how professors at Harvard define the process:

“They (supplements) are absorbed directly into the bloodstream as food is broken down during digestion or as a supplement dissolves. Because much of your body consists of water, many of the water-soluble vitamins circulate easily in your body.”

This, coupled with the fact that many supplements contain naturally derived nutrient sources, helps increase the beneficial absorption of vitamins, minerals that are in the supplements we choose to consume.

Because the USDA suggests such a large volume of fruits and vegetables each day, consuming supplements can be an easy and time friendly way to ensure that each of us is maximizing the benefits available to us through high quality products.

Additional nutrients and supplements that are taken that our bodies do not need and generally flushed out naturally by our bodies through the urinary tract. There is little concern about taking “too much” of a supplement, as our body will regulate what we do and don’t need.

By consistently taking recommended doses of the supplements our bodies need to function optimally, we’re ensuring the best possible results for your individual needs.
