The type of chemical peel used in the industry usually depends on the nature of the skin problem to be
treated as different acids will have different actions. Our advanced resurfacing system is formulated to cater to
the needs of your skin and can therefore be prescribed to treat anything from preventative anti-aging,
hyperpigmentation, acne, deep wrinkles associated with mature skin types or just achieving a general skin
glow.
What makes the TheraVineTM Professional Peeling System different, is that it is based on a step-up technique
consisting of 4 various strength peels using lactic acid and glycolic acid. An in-depth skin consultation is
performed as different treatment and course options can be customised at various strengths and intensities
depending on the desired outcome and the skin’s sensitivity tolerance.
Both Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid are Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) and work by dissolving the ‘glue’ that
holds the cells together. These superficial, damaged layers of skin slough off to unveil newer and healthier
skin. AHA’s are also known for its humectant properties, meaning that they attract water to the skin, which in
turn provides additional hydration, another benefit no-one will want to pass up. The addition of Tartaric Acid to
phase 1 and 2 of our peeling system allows us to additionally provide the anti-oxidant properties of this grape
derived acid while treating your skin concerns as it forms an AHA-hybrid acid synergy with the Lactic Acid.
The addition of Charcoal to phase 3 & 4 allows for these 2 phases to specifically and additionally cater
particularly well to the needs of a skin exposed to high amounts of pollution as well as oily and/or comedone
prone skin. The Charcoal assists to stimulate microcirculation, helps draw out impurities and pollution’s heavy
metals which detoxifies the skin – a first in the world of peels.
Our Professional Peeling System is indicated to:
