Ozone as a Disinfectant
"Ozone possesses several ideal properties for disinfection: it effectively removes pathogens across various physical and chemical conditions, leaves no residues or undesirable by-products (only oxygen), is easy to generate, safe to handle, suitable for widespread use, and cost-effective. Ozone requires only a short contact time to kill and inactivate bacteria, parasites, viruses, and fungi, and its antimicrobial action is relatively unaffected by pH. Unlike chlorination, ozone achieves greater than 99% reduction in parasites like Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium spp."
— Laurence J. Walsh, Professor, Head of School of Dentistry, University of Queensland, Australia
Ozonated Water
Ozone is 3,125 times more effective against bacteria and viruses compared to chlorine. Ozonated water is 50+ times more potent than chemical bactericidal agents like chlorine bleach. It can kill 99.999% of tested bacteria within 5 to 15 seconds, as demonstrated in SGS reports. The required concentration is much lower than chemical bactericides, which often require 100+ ppm of chlorine for general disinfection and up to 1,000 ppm for medical-grade disinfection. Ozonated water eliminates the risk of chemical residue and offers significant cost savings by reducing water usage for rinsing, preventing the recontamination of disinfected materials.
Enozo Aqueous Ozone - Nature's Sanitizer
Aqueous ozone, produced by Enozo, is created using water, air, and an electrical charge. This process, which mirrors nature’s way of producing ozone, revolutionizes how we sanitize, deodorize, and clean. The life cycle of ozone involves generation, oxidation, and conversion back to oxygen, effectively killing 99.9% of harmful bacteria.
Ozone has been safely used worldwide for over a century. Enozo’s aqueous ozone is Green Seal® Certified, Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the FDA, and part of the EPA Establishment.
ADEPT: Active Diamond Electrolytic Process Technology
ADEPT replicates natural ozone generation using tap water and a solid diamond plate. In this process, water from the reservoir passes through a chamber containing a solid diamond plate and encounters a direct electrical current. This reaction splits the strong bonds of ordinary oxygen, forming ozone, which is then sprayed through the nozzle.
Commercial Sanitizing Power
In the search for a less toxic solution to combat pathogens like Salmonella and E. coli, aqueous ozone emerged as the clear winner, earning its reputation as nature’s favorite sanitizer. Enozo’s spray bottles were the first patented, handheld, on-demand ozone-producing devices for sanitizing. After a decade of innovation, our products are trusted globally in various settings, from restaurants to schools.
EnozoPRO’s portable, on-demand spray bottle sanitizes faster than many traditional methods, making it a powerful tool for both industrial and home use. It’s a chemical-free alternative that replaces toxic sanitizers, protecting both people and the environment.
How Aqueous Ozone Differs from Harsh Chemical Antimicrobials
Unlike synthetic antimicrobials, which can harm both microbes and humans, ozone is naturally occurring and safe for human use. Aqueous ozone has a GRAS designation from the FDA, disappears within minutes, and leaves no harmful residues, making it a superior alternative for sanitization.
Ingredients: Aqueous ozone uses only tap water, unlike typical antimicrobials which contain harmful chemicals like alcohol, bleach, or formaldehyde.
Stability: Aqueous ozone has a short half-life, making it the safest, most environmentally friendly antimicrobial. Other chemicals, like bleach and peroxide, can persist in the environment for extended periods.
Irritation and Sensitivities: While chemicals like bleach and alcohol can cause skin and respiratory irritation, aqueous ozone is recognized as safe and effective by the FDA and the National Sanitation Foundation.
Concentration: Aqueous ozone from the Enozo bottle is effective at just 1 ppm, far lower than the concentrations needed for bleach or alcohol.
Contact Time: Enozo’s spray bottle kills microbes in 30 seconds with no residue left behind, compared to the longer contact times required by traditional chemicals.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Enozo’s aqueous ozone is safe for use without PPE, unlike many chemical antimicrobials which require protective gear.
Chemical Reactivity: Aqueous ozone avoids the risks associated with chemical reactivity, as it’s generated on-demand, reducing the need for storage and handling of hazardous chemicals.
Enozo’s Aqueous Ozone
Enozo’s Aqueous Ozone offers a safe, chemical-free solution for sanitization in both industrial and home settings. It’s an innovative, fast-acting antimicrobial that’s safe for people, pets, and all surfaces, ensuring a clean and protected environment.
